Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies From Debra Dier

2 cups all-purpose unbleached flour

1 tsp. baking powder

½ tsp. baking soda

¼ tsp. salt

½ cup unsalted butter

2 ½ ounces unsweetened baking chocolate

1 ½ cups granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 ½ tsp. vanilla

½ cup sour cream

2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips

½ cup chopped walnuts (optional)

½ cup chopped pecans (optional)

Preheat oven to 300 degrees.   In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.  Using a wire whisk, mix dry ingredients thoroughly, set aside.  In a double boiler, melt butter and baking chocolate stirring constantly until completely melted, set aside and allow to cool slightly. In a large mixing bowl using electric mixer beat sugar, eggs, and vanilla until blended.  Add chocolate and butter mixture.  Add dry ingredients 1/3 cup at a time, alternating with sour cream, mixing just until blended after each addition.  Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.  Drop by rounded tablespoons onto un-greased cookie sheets, or parchment paper lined cookie sheets placing two inches apart.  Bake 20-22 minutes.  Do not overbake. Immediately transfer from hot cookie sheet to cooling rack.
